MultiVendorPro — the Pro edition of the MultiVendor marketplace

Introduction

MultiVendor turns an S-Cart website into a multi-vendor marketplace on a single domain: vendors list their products on one shared storefront, shoppers buy from several vendors in one visit, and the marketplace collects the payment, then pays each vendor back after keeping a commission.

MultiVendorPro is the paid edition of that marketplace. It installs on top of the free MultiVendor plugin and contains the screens, services and data tables of every Pro feature. This page is for the marketplace owner who has purchased Pro (or is considering it): what the marketplace does, what Free gives you, what Pro adds and how to install it — and it is the entry point to the detailed documents below.

Features

MultiVendor lets several vendors trade on one website of yours. Each vendor gets their own store page and their own admin area, posts their own products and handles their own orders.

Shoppers buy the way they always do: they put goods from several stores in one cart and pay once — the system splits that into one order per store.

You keep the money and the control: the marketplace collects from the shopper, keeps a commission, then pays each vendor per period; you decide who may sell and which products go live.

Free vs Pro

Who buys Pro: the marketplace owner. Vendors and customers never pay anything to GP247 and never see an upgrade offer — the Free edition shows the owner where each Pro feature would live, and one click explains it.

Free is a working marketplace for up to 3 vendors. Pro is a second plugin installed on top of Free (MultiVendorPro, requires MultiVendor): install it and every locked entry opens the real screen — nothing is reinstalled, no data moves, and the tables Pro created are kept if you ever remove it.

How MultiVendor differs from Multi-Store

Both plugins talk about "many stores", but they are two different business models, and they cannot be installed together on one website (the installer refuses, to keep the shared store data intact). The same holds for Pro: MultiVendorPro cannot be installed on a site running MultiStore either. Pick the right one before you start:

In one line: Multi-Vendor is a marketplace for other people's shops; Multi-Store is several shops of your own. If every product is yours and you only need more domains, use Multi-Store instead: gp247.net/en/product/multi-store-pro.html.

Requirements

• S-Cart 3.x with gp247/core 3.0 and gp247/shop installed.
• The free MultiVendor plugin installed and enabled — Pro extends it, it does not replace it.
• Not installed together with the MultiStore plugin (the two models are mutually exclusive).
• Runs on ordinary shared hosting: no cron, no queue worker, no websocket needed.

Installation

1. Install and enable the free MultiVendor plugin first — Pro declares requireGp247Extensions: ["MultiVendor"] and refuses to install without it.
2. Install MultiVendorPro: import the zip you received, take it from the GP247 library, or copy the folder to app/GP247/Plugins/MultiVendorPro/ and install it from the Local storage tab.
3. Click Enable, run php artisan gp247:cache-rebuild, then reload the admin area: the (Pro) entries in the Marketplace menu now open the real screens, and the previously locked switches on Quick Configuration become editable.

Nothing is reinstalled and no data moves: stores, vendors, orders and the payout ledger stay where the free edition left them, and per-store commission rates set earlier apply immediately. Full steps, verification and troubleshooting: Setup guide.

Install from the command line (CLI, gp247 3.x)

Since gp247 3.x you can install both MultiVendor and MultiVendorPro from the GP247 library on the command line. Open a terminal in the website's root folder and run:

# 1) Once per website: register the (free) API License that connects the site to the GP247 library
php artisan gp247:ext-register-license

# 2) Install the free edition first (skip if already installed)
php artisan gp247:ext-install --type=plugin --key=MultiVendor

# 3) Install Pro with the license you received on purchase
php artisan gp247:ext-install --type=plugin --key=MultiVendorPro --paid --license=<your-license>

• Run two separate commands as above: a paid extension is installed one key at a time, never together with MultiVendor in one command.
• <your-license> is the license GP247 issues for your domain after purchase — not the free API License from step 1.
• Before step 1, make sure APP_URL in .env is the website's real domain (not http://localhost) — the license is bound to that domain.
• Once installed, the plugin is enabled and caches are refreshed automatically; nothing else is needed in the admin.
• The command checks the requirements declared in gp247.json (core 3.0, gp247/shop, required plugins, the rule against installing alongside MultiStore) and stops with a clear message if something is missing.
• If the plugin folder is already in app/GP247/Plugins/ (copied manually or unpacked from the zip), the command installs it in place instead of downloading it again.
• The command refuses a plugin that is already installed. To move to a newer version, run php artisan gp247:ext-update --type=plugin --key=MultiVendorPro.
• Append --json to get machine-readable output (for scripts/CI).

Conditions & Rules (know before you act)

• Pro requires Free — it is an extension of MultiVendor, not a replacement; keep both plugins enabled.
• Not together with MultiStore — the same mutual exclusion as the free plugin; the installer refuses before writing anything.
• Removing Pro keeps your data — the tables Pro created (identity profiles, disputes, plans and subscriptions, customer groups, payout batch log) are never dropped, so reinstalling later finds everything in place. The Pro switches on Quick Configuration go back to locked and the Pro screens go back to explanation pages.
• Licence and updates come through the GP247 paid channel that delivered the plugin.

Q&A

Q1: I installed Pro but the menu still shows explanation pages.

→ Check that MultiVendorPro is Enabled (not just installed) and run php artisan gp247:cache-rebuild; Pro routes are registered when the site boots.

Q2: Do my vendors need to install anything?

→ No. Vendors use the same /vendor_admin area; the Pro screens (identity verification, my plan, new order, price groups, reviews, store plugins) simply appear in their sidebar.

Q3: Where is the plan fee collected?

→ Nowhere separately — it is booked as a negative row in the vendor's payout ledger and netted into the next payout, in the currency you picked for the plan.

Q4: I run the Free edition today — do I lose anything by moving to Pro?

→ No. Pro installs on top of Free; stores, vendors, orders and the payout ledger stay where they are. Per-vendor rates you had set on Free are kept and start applying once Pro is installed.

Q5: Do vendors or customers ever see a price or an upgrade button?

→ No. Only the marketplace administrator sees Pro entries; on the Free edition, a vendor who reaches a Pro feature is told it is part of the marketplace's Pro edition and to ask the marketplace.

Q6: Can MultiVendorPro serve several stores of one owner?

→ No — that is the Multi-Store model, a different plugin that cannot be installed together with MultiVendor. See the table in How MultiVendor differs from Multi-Store.
